Privacy notice

Last updated: 10 September 2026

Short version: this site sets no cookies, runs no analytics and tracks nobody. The calculator works entirely inside your browser. Nothing about you reaches us unless you choose to fill in the enquiry form.

Who we are

Cornwall Steel Buildings, based in Cornwall. We are the data controller for anything you send us. Contact us at [email protected].

What we collect

Only what you type into an enquiry form: your name, and an email address or phone number so we can reply. If you add a message, we keep that too.

When you send an enquiry from the calculator, the figures you worked out go with it — the building type, dimensions, slab specification and the resulting quantities. That is so you don't have to type them again, and so whoever quotes you has something to quote from. Those figures are about a building, not about you.

We do not store your IP address. We do not use cookies, analytics, advertising pixels or any other tracking. There is no cookie banner on this site because there is nothing to consent to.

Why we hold it, and on what basis

To answer your enquiry and to arrange a quote for the building you asked about. The lawful basis is that you asked us to — steps taken at your request before entering into a contract, and our legitimate interest in running the business you contacted.

Who else sees it

A steel building supplier. We do not manufacture or erect buildings. When you send an enquiry, we pass your details and your figures to a steel building supplier so they can prepare engineered drawings and a price. They will contact you directly. If you would like to know which supplier before you send anything, email us and we will tell you.

Beyond that, the only other parties involved are the services that make the site work. They process data on our instructions and for no purpose of their own:

We do not sell your details, and we will not add you to a marketing list off the back of an enquiry.

How long we keep it

Enquiries are kept while the job is live and for a reasonable period afterwards, because a steel building is often discussed for a year or more before anything is built. We have not automated deletion, so if you want your details removed, ask and we will remove them.

Your rights

You can ask for a copy of what we hold, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Email the address above and we will action it. If you are not happy with how we have handled your data you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.

Changes

If this notice changes we will update the date at the top. We will not make a change that widens what we do with your data without telling you.
